About Amanda
Amanda is the founder and Clinical Director of Marsh Physio Plus, with more than 30 years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy across both the NHS and private practice in the UK and Australia. She specialises in identifying the underlying causes of pain and movement restriction rather than simply treating symptoms, combining hands-on physiotherapy with targeted rehabilitation and long-term injury prevention strategies.
Her early career included senior NHS roles, rising to Superintendent Physiotherapist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She later developed her work further in private practice and completed a postgraduate qualification in sports-specific physiotherapy, strengthening her expertise in sports and orthopaedic care.
Amanda is known for her whole-person approach. She looks not only at the immediate area of pain, but at how the wider body is moving and functioning, and at the everyday factors that may be influencing recovery. This can include broader discussions around lifestyle, physical load, menopause, general wellbeing and how these may be affecting pain, mobility and function.
She is deeply committed to her profession and to staying up to date with developments in physiotherapy. She has also served on the executive board of PhysioFirst, the organisation representing private physiotherapy in the UK. Born and bred in Marlborough, Amanda is proud to lead a clinic that brings high-quality physiotherapy and wellbeing care to the heart of her local community.
How Amanda can help
Amanda supports patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, movement problems and rehabilitation needs. Physiotherapy is commonly used to help with persistent back and neck pain, shoulder problems including frozen shoulder, sports injuries, overuse conditions and recovery after surgery.
She is particularly well placed to support people with more complex or recurring issues, where understanding the underlying drivers of pain and restriction is key. Her work also suits those needing post-operative rehabilitation, movement assessment, functional rehabilitation and a structured plan to help them recover well and reduce the risk of problems returning.
How Amanda works
Amanda believes that effective physiotherapy begins with understanding how the whole body moves and functions. During an initial assessment, she explores not only the area of pain but also the surrounding joints, muscles and movement patterns that may be contributing to the problem.
Her treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, manual therapy, guided rehabilitation exercises and practical advice to support recovery and prevent recurrence. She works in a thoughtful, structured way, aiming to restore movement, improve function and help patients feel more confident in their bodies.
As Clinical Director, Amanda also works closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient receives the most appropriate combination of treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing support.
What to expect
At your first appointment, Amanda will take time to understand your symptoms, history and wider movement patterns before carrying out a detailed physical assessment. This allows her to build a clear picture of what may be driving the problem and what treatment approach is likely to help most.
Sessions are tailored to the individual and may include hands-on treatment, exercise-based rehabilitation and practical advice to support progress between appointments. Amanda’s focus is on helping patients understand their problem, feel confident in their care and work towards recovery in a realistic and sustainable way.
